How referencing works
The five checks behind every tenancy
As part of letting a property, we carry out reference checks covering personal, professional, financial, employment and rental history. This is the same process described for landlords.

We confirm who you are, so the tenancy agreement is made with the right person from the outset.

We look at your professional standing so an owner can be confident the tenancy is entered into responsibly.

We check that the rent is affordable for you, so the tenancy is realistic for both sides, not just agreed in a hurry.

Employment
We confirm your employment, so the income behind the tenancy is verified, not just declared.

Rental history
Where you have rented before, we ask how it went, so everyone starts the new tenancy with an honest picture.
